THERE is a wretched inevitability to the way world events are currently unfolding. An increasingly menacing president-elect in the USA threatens to undermine his neighbour Canada whilst publicly warning of his intentions to annex Greenland and Panama.
His second term may be the greatest hazard to world peace since the Second World War. His entourage of neo-fascists, grasping libertarian capitalists and orthodox crackpots all follow their own self-centred, egotistic agendas that pay little or no heed to humanity in general.
Bond villains like the increasingly unhinged Elon Musk now believe that they have a role to play in UK politics, rejecting the odious Farage as too liberal and citing dregs of society like Tommy Robinson as his choice for Prime Minister, conveniently forgetting that we still operate within a semi-democracy in the United Kingdom.

The UK Prime Minister has predictably reacted to Musk’s unacceptable interference in his usual anodyne and pedantic fashion. His is truly as effective as a cat flap in an elephant house and it is difficult to fathom how his first six months in power have been different from the years of Tory austerity and iniquity. His inability to seize the initiative and at least attempt to reset social justicehas been predictable yet frustrating nonetheless.
The Waspi women, pensioners’ fuel bills and the two-child limit are all issues that scream of injustice and unfairness yet the supine Labour Party led by an apologist for the status quo have done nothing but offer mealy mouthed excuses for their torpor and inexcusable inaction.
In addition, despite the continuing genocide perpetrated by the Israeli government, Starmer’s UK administration still sanctions the sale of arms, aeroplane components and the like, whilst openly broadcasting their support for the wholesale slaughter of Palestinian families. Which takes me reasonably to the serpentine former Tory MP, Michael Gove.
Mr Gove is no stranger to utilising the politics of the sewer, as anyone who has followed his media and political career will testify.
This Gollum-esque gargoyle has never shied away from employing disreputable and deceitful tactics in his political life or in his role as editor of The Spectator, yet his statement that the IDF should be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize goes beyond anything he has previously said or done.

As the figure of innocent Palestinians murdered by these thugs approaches 50,000, Gove’s assertion is comparable to congratulating the SS for their efficiency in organising and planning the death camps in Eastern Europe during World War Two. His utter lack of humanity is in keeping with events unfolding across the USA and Israel.
Gove is a vile, immoral and ethically bankrupt creature. It appears the magazine he edits and the BBC that offers him programmes to host are oblivious to his opinions and views that belong in the gutter.
We in Scotland require a radical alternative to what appears to have become an increasingly amoral society in the USA, the UK and beyond.
The Scottish Government must present as being unapologetically socialist and putting social justice to the forefront of all its domestic policies.
We require bold, strong and forceful leadership in the months and years ahead. This is no time for political conservatism or trepidation if we are to avoid being a formal colony of the USA in the not-too-distant future.
