ALMOST 50 years ago Radio Free Scotland was filling the airwaves when BBC closed down at midnight. The brain child of Gordon Wilson, they were looking for a tune that would enliven the show and I suggested Cicelia by Simon and Garfunkel.

The very next evening there it was, blasting through the airwaves, to my delight. Any time I hear it now I always think of Radio Free Scotland.

Last week I sat through a morning flipping through hundreds of TV channels and could not find one that could be identified as Scottish.

By the end of the year I will be 90 years old, all being well, and with almost 60 years in the SNP, yet apparently Scotland is no closer to independence.

Why do we always follow English rules, when for generations we have known that we the people are sovereign?

Yes, we need a truly SCOTTISH channel.
