WHY is anyone surprised that the Tories and their chums wanted the elderly to all be infected with Covid-19 and pass away? Apart from the fact that would see Westminster saving tens of millions each month on the national disgrace that is the derisory state pension, we must never forget the Tories are just a present-day version of a combination of the Whigs and Tories of yesteryear who only represented the upper class and the middle class. When the workers wanted reform in the 1830s and their voices to be heard, the rulers of the day ordered in the Cavalry to crush the protests. They killed hundreds of working people simply trying to have their voices heard, in the country that they helped maintain, and we all know this was not the first time this happened as 12 years earlier they used the same barbarous tactics in the Peterloo massacre.

They now stand idly by as thousands of women and children in Gaza are massacred, and you wonder why, when situations of life and death come along, they are absolutely inept and worse than useless on every level?

To listen to Tories here in Scotland try to blacken our government over Covid-19 Whatsapp irregularities, whilst ignoring downright criminal activities from their masters in Westminster, really is a new low even for these chancers and charlatans as they try their utmost to ensure their masters’ constant criminal actions can somehow be brushed under the carpet. These clowns should be too affronted to show their faces on our streets as they work night and day to try ensure both Scotland and in their own children never prosper!

As for the airheaded embarrassment, the balloon that is Jackson Carlaw, calling Humza Yousaf an embarrassment for calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, words fail me.

Don’t get me wrong in any way, as absolutely nothing can excuse the truly abhorrent acts of October 7, but for the UK Government and others to sit idly by and watch war crime after war crime being committed each and every day is really quite simply an absolute disgrace on every level. Even more baffling to me is why any person here with a functioning brain would ever even consider voting for these heartless, crooked fools who quite simply detest the Scots but covet our huge resources, I mean really, just how stupid are some people? It’s not even funny now.

Oh, to have a strong Scottish Government in these genuinely awful times. Here’s to far better days.

WHERE’S “Ally”? Amid the chaos and invective of a government in a pandemic crisis, the Cabinet minister who was supposed to be representing and safeguarding the interests of the people of Scotland within the UK Government was apparently posted missing.

The role of the Secretary of State for Scotland became even more questionable when Boris and his pals decided not to involve the devolved governments in the early decision-making of combatting potentially the biggest health catastrophe to hit the UK since the Black Death.

While the BBC and the bulk of the UK mainstream media (apparently guided by that beacon of impartiality, the Sunday Mail) have been fixated on WhatsApp messages of the Scottish Government which may have little or no bearing on understanding pivotal decisions made, our “de facto Governor General” continues to act as if he is above the law when it comes to taking responsibility for his actions, or in this case his inactions.

Not only has he repeatedly refused to appear before various Holyrood committees to answer questions, he has so far refused to provide the witness statement requested by the UK Covid inquiry. It is understandable that, as with the Scottish Government, there may be legal obstacles to overcome before private messages can be released, but the impression is that (unlike the Scottish Government, which has apparently already provided thousands of pages) Alister Jack has provided little information, if any.

Perhaps the fact that he does not seem to have yet featured in the comments of others around the man who did “not have the skill-set” to lead the country through a pandemic tragically indicates that this non-entity had no voice when it came to decisions impacting on the lives of the Scottish people, including older citizens who were apparently expendable. Perhaps the wally’s sole contribution during the crisis was simply to agree to every irrational turn of his totally incompetent boss without ever expressing an opinion. Perhaps “Ally”, along with the rest of the incompetents in government resulting from a grossly undemocratic electoral system, has finally been found out and one of the most significant recommendations of the UK and Scottish Covid inquiries will be that electoral reform is essential for the UK, with the powers of independence advocated for Scotland.

I NOTE that at the current UK Covid inquiry, the senior civil servant who organised the now notorious “bring your own booze” Number 10 garden party has apologised.

That, of course, in the Westminster well-worn phrase, should “see an end to the matter”. And I should think so. An apology must have really taken it out of the poor fellow.

I recall, however, that in that same year, two young men organised a snowball fight in a public park. They were given fines of £10,000 each. I wonder if they were given the opportunity to make a humiliating apology before the fine was issued. Had they been given this chance then surely there would have been no need for these fines.

The country is almost immune now to worrying about such blatant distortions of justice. It just gets worse and worse!!
