WELL done to the organisers of the Chain of Freedom. I was fortunate to attend with around 20 others from the Yes Paisley campaign team. I know we may have fallen short in some parts of the chain but those who were there will testify that despite a cold day, everyone was in great spirits.

It felt like the AUOB marches of old, where people with a shared vision of an independent Scotland came together to show our solidarity. The fact that this was not a party political organised event and was organised by independence supporters highlights that no matter what independence-supporting political parties end up doing, the spirit of independence is strong amongst the ordinary supporters of the independence movement.
Once again, thanks to the organisers – it was a great event and helped boost our confidence that support for Scotland’s independence is getting stronger.
