ON May 24 the Sort The System mass lobby of parliament took place in Westminster. I attended the event along with hundreds of others from across the UK with a clear message for parliament: that to deliver real and lasting change, first the UK needs to sort the system and embrace proportional representation.

Politics isn’t working. Life is getting harder and Westminster is letting it happen. Our politics is out of touch because parliament doesn’t fairly reflect how we vote.

We need proportional representation so everyone has a voice that counts.

Hundreds of us travelled to Westminster to meet our MPs, and we represent the majority – a recent poll has found that the public supports a move to PR by a margin of more than two to one.

As a constituent of Gordon, I was proud to be part of Sort The System, to meet my MP, and to hear that he supports this cause. I will go on campaigning for the change we so desperately need.
