IT has been pointed out on the TV that Larry, the 10 Downing Street cat, has been the most permanent resident of that address in recent times. I propose that said cat be put forward as a candidate for PM, after all, it can’t do a worse job than those who have been in that office in recent decades.

THE UK has now become Russia. No need for democracy or elections, just place in power a “strong” leader who cares nothing for the country but is only interested in retaining power for the “right” people. It doesn’t matter how morally corrupt they are.
It’s time we left Westminster to its own mess and no mealy-mouthed justification from “Better Together” or “Project Farce” should deter us from deciding our own destiny through independence.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
