I READ an interesting article in Tuesday’s “Back in the Day”. Particularly the words spoken by Sir Winston Churchill regarding devolution.

The fact that it was debated in the UK Parliament in the years before the First World War. So it would be almost 90 years before the Scottish Parliament was reinstated! I have said on numerous occasions that independence is a marathon not a sprint. The next referendum will be the last and we cannot afford to lose it. So the task of all the people who have made Scotland their home is to convince the “silent majority” of the benefits of independence.

A competent government is the place to start. I absolutely applaud the agreement between the SNP and Greens, something I advocated was a desired outcome before the last Scottish Parliament election. If the Scottish Green Party vote for the agreement, this is the biggest opportunity for Scotland to prove beyond doubt that we are more than capable of governing ourselves.
