BREAKING habit, I watched the leaders’ debate and found it puerile, listless and boring. When are these politicians going to be asked real questions?
Like whether they truly believe in democracy and, if so, how can they equate that to denying Scots their democratic and fundamental right to choose how they are governed?
Like asking Sturgeon why Brexit was pursued during the pandemic but she’s effectively put independence on the back burner.

And asking Willie Rennie why he abandoned his principles over EU membership which he fought for and, if it was really so important to him, why, as a Scot, he refuses to understand and accept that Scots who voted to remain in the EU can and want to regain membership through indy?
Like asking Sarwar why he behaves like the chattel of the Labour party and puts its needs before the interests of Scots, helping to explain his party’s fall from grace over recent decades?
Like asking Harvie what the purpose of the Greens is when we’re now all aboard environmental issues and anything else he comes up with is well represented across the political spectrum, rendering his party’s input redundant and superfluous?

Like asking them all if they agree that in the event that a majority and/or a super-majority of MSPs supporting indy are returned, the will of the electorate should be fulfilled without further delay and procrastination by them.
Finally, shouldn’t the Scottish media be answering questions about its role in suppressing real debate and public expression of opinion in its clear drive to serve its Unionist political masters and skew the campaign to areas of lesser contemporary importance than the future governance and political design of Scotland and Scots wholly by Scots from Edinburgh?

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
