I ENJOYED reading Kathleen Nutt’s article about our SNP MEPs taking up their posts in Europe (SNP’s MEP trio forge alliances as Europe regroups after election results, June 2).

I was encouraged to read that Christian Allard has refused to apply for settled status on point of principle.

My German husband has also said he will not apply for the right to remain in his home of over 30 years. The only home he has ever known.

We are already personally familiar with the Home Office’s hostile environment default position on immigration.

If Scotland does not become independent our future here is in doubt.

For those readers who do not support Scotland in Europe, I would ask you to consider that leaving Europe is a cause of high stress and anxiety for many people in Scotland.
