GLASGOW’s Willy Wonka experience has been spoofed on one of the most popular late night chat shows in the US.

A new sketch aired on the US talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week on the ABC network and was recorded in Hollywood.

It comes after we told how top US comedian Nathan Fielder distanced himself from a reported “recreation” of the event in Los Angeles.

The new spoof featured Freddie Highmore, the star of Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory from 2005, who reprised his role as Charlie Bucket.

He jokingly debuts part two of the experience, in which Bucket gives two children a tour as a green screen behind him falls down to reveal a sparsely-decorated building similar to what was seen at the Glasgow event.

Despite promising a “paradise of sweet treats,” parents were left fuming with the original event in Whiteinch as Police were called to the scene with children in tears.

In the sketch, an actress resembling the viral sad Oompa Loompa asks the children: “Do you fancy some yummy methamphetamine” in reference to the event being compared to something from a meth lab.

Commenting on the advertising which was blamed on the use of AI, the sketch says, “everything here is created by ChatGPT”.

The National: The bizarre event was a letdown for those who attended

Highmore also meets the character The Unknown, while he also sings throughout the sketch.

The spoof used photos of the Glasgow warehouse before it ends with the credit: “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Part Two… in abandoned theatres everywhere.”
