A COMEDY star has distanced himself from a recreation of Glasgow’s infamous Willy Wonka experience in Los Angeles.
It has been widely reported that Nathan Fielder – co-creator of hit show The Curse – was scheduled to appear at the California event alongside Hangover star Zach Galifianakis.
The notorious event in Whiteinch was hosted by House of Illuminati and went viral across the globe as children were promised a “paradise of sweet treats” and “mind-expanding projections and optical marvels” but were left in tears.

Now, an event in Los Angeles is set to feature Kirsty Paterson, 29, who became a viral hit as the sad Oompa Loompa at the £35-a-ticket experience.
However, despite initially being linked to the event, representatives for Fielder approached The National to say the comic has nothing to do with the project and confirmed he would not be attending.
Neither he nor Galifianakis is listed on the Eventbrite listing for the Los Angeles event, which is priced at $44 for a ticket.
It is scheduled to take place “in a nondescript warehouse nestled in the heart of downtown Los Angeles” at the end of April with a Q&A opportunity with Paterson.
Various reports also billed event producer Halston Bruce as the organiser although she also got in touch with The National to confirm she was not involved.
The Eventbrite listing also says that “Hollywood heartthrob Timothée Chalamet has perhaps maybe expressed interest in attending” after he played the titular character in last year’s Wonka.
Discussing the event, Paterson said: “I didn’t really expect to end up in the USA or to go as big as this because the USA is on a different level.
“I’ve not been to America before. As a trained actor it’s really exciting for me to go over there.
“I’m doing a lot of meetings and a lot of networking out there. As a trained actress it’s not an impossibility that I’ll be doing movies.”
Guests are to be welcomed to a “plethora of enchanting attractions” in downtown LA, including DJ sets and film screenings.
Paterson added: “The House of Illuminati LA name is a joke. It’s not Billy Coull. I don’t do any work with him and steer clear of that for a reason. After LA I’m off to New York.”
