SCOTS have reacted after Twitter/X owner Elon Musk labelled Humza Yousaf a “blatant racist”.

It comes as the First Minister told Musk to tackle the “racism and hatred that goes unchecked on the social media platform he owns”.

Musk had replied to a post featuring a snippet of a speech Yousaf made when he was justice secretary in 2020 discussing the dominance of white people in positions of power in Scottish society.

The original post, which came from the account End Wokeness, claimed the First Minister “despises white people”.

The clip is under a minute in length while the full speech lasts for around 10 minutes.

The National:

In response, writing on Twitter/X, Yousaf said: “Racists foaming at the mouth at my very existence. Me,” which was followed by a gif of Still Game character Navid dancing in his shop.

People have taken to social media to react to Yousaf’s speech with one describing the First Minister as the “first patter merchant”.

“Nicely handled First Minister,” said another user while a third described the post as “quality”.

Councillor Fatima Joji commented: “Honestly, sometimes the best and only response you are left with.”

Another councillor, Iain Sinclair joked: “Top quality bantz from the FM himself.”
