The National:

ACTOR Christopher Eccleston has given his take on the coronation with a post on Instagram.

The 59-year-old, known for starring in Doctor Who, posted an image with the caption: “Thank god I kept that bunting from the jubilee last year.”

Below it was an image showing pieces of paper spelling out “f**k off”.

The actor has previously been outspoken when it comes to the monarchy and is known for his belief in abolishing the royal family.

Many replied to the post with one saying they were “waiting” to see the actor’s take. “My Doctor”, added another.

A third said they “knew the Eccleston post would be good” while another added: “I knew you were my favourite actor for a reason”.

Charles has now officially been crown as monarch and prayed to be a “blessing” to people of “every faith and conviction”.

Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf attended the ceremony while some gathered at a screening in Princes Street Gardens to watch the ceremony.
