*Warning: Spoilers for BBC series Vigil below*

MARTIN Compston has teased fans with a cheeky hint about his upcoming Amazon Prime Series The Rig.

The six-part Amazon Prime Video series recently finished filming in Edinburgh and is due for release some time in 2022.

The series will tell the story of a North Sea oil rig off the Scottish coast which gets cut off from all communication with the shore and the outside world due to earth tremors.

In teaser images released today, Compston can be seen in character wearing an orange boiler suit at work aboard an oil rig.

The Greenock-born actor shared the images out on his Twitter page, and later teased fans with a hint at plot points for the upcoming show.

Referencing many fans’ disappointment to see his character killed off within the first ten minutes of the new BBC series Vigil, Compston wrote: “Can confirm I don’t die in first ten minutes, after that it’s every boiler suit for themselves.”

“It's such a relief to hear this,” one of the Scot’s fans tweeted in response.

“Hallelujah,” another added.

One Erin Banks wrote: “I cannot explain how livid I was that they killed him in the first ten mins of Vigil.”

The Rig will also star Game Of Thrones actor Iain Glen, Schitt's Creek star Emily Hampshire, and Small Axe's Rochenda Sandall.
