CHARLIE Kerr’s long letter regarding human greed should be compulsory reading for all of us. It shouldn’t be limited to the readers of the National Conversation. Greta Thunberg, the young Swedish girl, is internationally known for challenging the world leaders to take immediate action for climate change mitigation. She has taken her message to the public, government leaders and assemblies.

“Our” Charlie fae Glenrothes has pointed out in his own plain-speaking style that human greed, selfishness and ignorance is the principal fundamental cause, the catalyst, of the decline of the planet and the wellbeing of so many in the world.

Glasgow is going to host the United Nations Climate Change Conference in November. (When’s the Human Greed Conference?) What an honour and opportunity for Scotland to get Charlie’s message out there. Should we be handing out Charlie’s long letter to the government leaders as they dismount from their carbon-footprint jet planes? We should at least be looking at putting our own house in order. Let all of us try harder, do better. That means Holyrood and of course, Boris, that means you too!
