POLICE have visited Dominic Cummings’ house amid calls for him to be sacked for breaching lockdown rules.

The senior Downing Street adviser is alleged to have made two trips to County Durham, where his family lives, despite social distancing restrictions.

Two police officers were seen knocking on the door at Cummings' north London address.

There was no answer and the officers walked away moments later.

Asked about the visit by reporters, the Met Police press office declined to explain why the officers were there.

Cummings has denied returning to Durham in April, weeks after his initial time spent self-isolating in the region.

Speaking outside his London home earlier today after one journalist asked if he had been back to Durham in April, the former Vote Leave chief said: "No, I did not."
