ALL Under One Banner has confirmed that next month's independence march in Arbroath "is 100% on" despite coronavirus fears.

The pro-independence group said that after a call with Police Scotland the march and rally on April 4 will go ahead.

AUOB said on Twitter: "Just had a detailed call with @policescotland  Re #AUOBArbroath and pleased to inform everyone that at this time the March & Rally is 100% on and so we fully intend to take to the streets on 4th April to demand an Independent Scotland and an end to Westminster rule. Be there."

The rally takes place two days before the 700th anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath.

The National reported yesterday that marches for this year had already been organised up to October but with large gatherings and events being cancelled worldwide, it seemed likely the AUOB events would be cancelled.

Elgin's march is set for July 4, Kirkcaldy's for August 1 and Stirling's for September 12, before Edinburgh's event finishes off the line-up on October 3.
