ALL Under One Banner has confirmed that scheduled independence marches will still go ahead despite the coronavirus outbreak – stating that it is the Union that is the "health threat".
Marches for this year had already been organised up to October, but with large gatherings and events being cancelled worldwide, Scotland looks set to have some plans scuppered in the coming months.
However, independence supporters have been reassured by organisers that after co-operation with Police Scotland, there are no intentions to call off rallies in the foreseeable future.

re #coronavirus and implications for the marches- at present and as foreseeable they are not being requested to be called off, but we will keep you informed all the way. Know this - we intend to March- the Union is a health threat.
AUOB’s calendar for 2020 includes next month’s march in Arbroath, which will take place on April 4 – two days before the 700th anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath.
Rallies will then be held in Glasgow on May 2 and in Peebles on June 6.
Elgin's march is set for July 4, Kirkcaldy's for August 1 and Stirling's for September 12, before Edinburgh's event finishes off the line-up on October 3.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
