I LISTENED to Professor David MacMillan this morning on Radio Scotland, as well as reading your excellent coverage in the newspaper (Bellshill-born scientist awarded Nobel Prize, Oct 7).

As well as coming across as a very modest receiver of the Nobel prize, what an absolute inspiration and advert for Scotland and Scottish education.

We are living with the hellish effects of Alzheimer’s in our family and that the brilliant David and his team are looking into possible medications in this line gives me great hope for a better future for so many people.

PS: we also are huge Scotland fans.

Thank you and massive congratulations to David and his team for the Nobel award.
