Both Celtic and Rangers could still falter before they face each other on May 12 because there's "a little bit of nerves kicking in".

That's the opinion of former Light Blues utility man, Lee McCulloch, who believes Dundee, Heart of Midlothian, Kilmarnock, and St Mirren have the potential to take points off the Scottish Premiership title-chasing duo.

Celtic are three points ahead of their city rivals heading into five huge post-split fixtures.

McCulloch recently stated that he doesn't see either Glasgow giant dropping any points apart from when they meet next month.

But the 45-year-old appears to have had a change of heart as he's sensed a slight vulnerability from watching both teams recent matches.

In the Scottish Cup semi-finals last weekend, league leaders, Celtic, had to rely on penalties to overcome a determined Aberdeen side, who twice retaliated with late equalisers at Hampden Park.

While Rangers, despite defeating Hearts, still didn't appear to be performing at their best.

"It could still happen, there's a possibility it could still happen this season," McCulloch told PLZ Soccer when discussing the prospect of the title race going down to the wire.

"I think when you go back to last week and the Old Firm semi-finals for both teams, I don't think either of them played particularly well.

"I think Rangers have obviously done well, it was a good scoreline and they've got through. Celtic gone to penalties, two away games they've got this week domestically. I think the cup can be different from the league.

"I'm changing from where I was two weeks ago where I said I don't think they will drop points out with the Old Firm game.

"I think they possibly could now because when you look at both squads a little bit of nerves are kicking in, with the way they performed last weekend in the cup.

"So I believe they will drop points, but I still think it will come down to the Old Firm game."
