Spanish referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea will be the man in the middle of Hibernian’s ‘Battle of Britain’ with Aston Villa.
The 37-year-old has been a La Liga official since 2015 and on the FIFA international list for the last five years.
The dental technician has previously taken change of two European matches involving Scottish clubs, and neither have ended well.
In 2019, he awarded Rijeka a penalty in the first-leg of their Europa League third qualifying round encounter with Aberdeen as the Croatians won 2-0.
And, a year later, de Burgos was the official at the heart of Celtic’s 4-2 defeat to AC Milan in the Europa League group stages.
