ANDY Murray was left shocked after receiving a Father’s Day surprise following a tournament win in Nottingham.

Speaking after the event, Murray was asked what his plans were for the rest of the grass court season.

After saying that he was looking forward to a rest day and getting back home in time to see his children for Father’s Day, a yell came from the audience.

Unbeknownst to Murray, his wife Kim Sears and all four of their kids were in the audience.

They had just watched him emerge victorious in the Men’s singles final of the Rothesay Open against Frenchman Arthur Cazaux.

“Oh my god,” said Murray after shouts of “they’re here” came from the audience.

“Aw, I didn’t know they were here. I had no idea they were coming!

“They came last week for the final at Surbiton and they turned up and it started raining.

“So they had to go home for the kids bedtime so they missed the end of the match.

“So, it’s great that they’ve managed to come today. Thanks guys!”

Murray was asked what it meant to him to be able to win keep winning trophies while also raising a family.

“My family have been unbelievably supportive in me continuing with my career when they could easily have told me to stop,” he said.

“So I really appreciate them still supporting me and trying to get me to keep going.”
