Pep Guardiola reckons Tottenham have appointed an "exceptional manager" in Ange Postecoglou.

The former Celtic boss signed a four-year deal with the Premier League club on Tuesday.

Postecoglou made the quickfire switch to North London after sealing a domestic treble with Scottish Cup success last weekend.

And Guardiola reckons Postecoglou will do an "incredible job" at Spurs as he recalled meeting the Australian coach when he was Yokohama F Marinos boss.

The Manchester City manager also revealed his positive relationship with Celtic owner Dermot Desmond as he remarked on Postecoglou's move to Tottenham.

Guardiola has previously been pictured playing golf with the Celtic supremo.

Quizzed on Postecoglou's move, Guardiola commented: "Another exceptional manager is coming.

"I was lucky to meet him in Tokyo years ago when he was manager for Yokohama - one of our clubs in the City Football Group.

"It was an interesting chat and I have a good relationship with the owner for Celtic Glasgow.

"He did an incredible job and he will do an increible job at Spurs."

Guardiola then joked he's hopeful his City side will be able to score against Postecoglou's side in North London having failed to manage it so far.

He quipped: "Hopefully, we can score one goal away."
