CONNOR GOLDSON has seen a handful of defensive partners come and go and been the rock at the heart of the Rangers rearguard for four seasons now.
And he is confident the relationship with his latest companion Ben Davies will continue to go from strength to strength after a difficult start to life together at Ibrox.
Goldson was one of the first signings that Steven Gerrard made when he was appointed manager in 2018 and he has now been reunited with Michael Beale after he returned to Glasgow as boss.
The stopper counts the likes of Nikola Katic, Filip Helander and Leon Balogun amongst those he has played alongside and Davies is the latest man to take up a central berth beside him.
It is only since Beale's appointment as manager that Goldson and Davies have been able to put together a regular run of games after coming through their respective injury situations earlier in the campaign.

And the 30-year-old is pleased with the progress they have been making together as Beale builds from the back and looks to lay the foundations for a successful second half of the season.
Goldson said: “It’s good just to get a run together with Ben. We both had injuries at the start of the season and I don’t think helped the team.
“It was never settled as a back four. But we’re building confidence together now. He’s very easy to play with and he’s a good player.
“I don’t really need to talk to him much on the pitch, which is nice. And we’re doing well together.
“The relationship can only get stronger and that helps other areas of the pitch.

“We’re looking strong defensively. We’re aren’t giving away many chances.
“We played against a good team on Wednesday night and limited them to one or two.
“The more we can play together, the more rhythm and understanding we’ll get.
“There are still little tweaks we can make on stuff we’re not 100 percent sure on together, like when we stay up, when we drop deep. But on the whole, we’re both really happy and in a good place."
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
