Livingston manager David Martindale has been named the Scottish Premiership Glen’s Manager of the Month for November, after the club moved into fourth spot in the table ahead of the World Cup break.

Martindale’s side picked up seven points from a possible nine available during November, with important wins over Kilmarnock and Aberdeen as well as a draw at Tynecastle against Hearts.

Livingston have picked up seven wins from their 15 matches played this season and at 23 points the club are just two points behind third-placed Aberdeen.

Martindale last picked up Manager of the Month in January 2021, and after receiving the award this time round, he said: “I'm absolutely delighted to receive this award as it’s always special to be recognised for the club's success.

“As everyone knows, this is most definitely a collective award and only possible because of the work put in by all the staff and players at the club.

“There is a huge amount of work that goes on by everyone behind the scenes, which often goes unrecognised at most football clubs and we’re no different, so I’m really pleased that we’ve all been recognised for the success that that has helped achieve on the park.

“I’m delighted and proud to be the one who will receive this award on behalf of everyone else at the football club as, like I say, it’s most definitely a collective achievement.”

Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, added: “This season is going to be different in terms of Glen’s Manager of the Month awards, given the break for the World Cup and the shortened league programmes in November and December.

“However, our voting panel were once again full of praise for the tremendous work David Martindale and his coaching staff are doing at Livingston and given their resources available, sitting in fourth spot in the table at this stage of the season is a terrific achievement.

“They were just minutes away from a 100% record for the month in their match against Hearts and they are again pushing the boundaries in terms of results. My congratulations go to David and his team.”
