KILMARNOCK manager Derek McInnes admits he is delighted to have been reunited with talent spotter Russ Richardson following a shake-up of the backroom staff at Rugby Park.

Richardson worked with McInnes at both Bristol City and Aberdeen and has made the move to Rugby Park from Liverpool.

Greig Thomson is also back working with McInnes as senior analyst having also been previously employed at Pittodrie.

Director Phyllis McLeish has assumed the role of managing director and will be supported by new general manager Gregg McEwan, who has moved across from his position as head of marketing and commercial operations.

McInnes said: “I’m delighted that the club have supported me in addressing key positions within the football operations department.

“Having worked closely with Russ over a ten-year period, I know him as a very dependable member of staff who I’ll rely on heavily.

“All of the additions will be of great benefit to the club and, as an already very close-knit team, I’m sure we’ll continue to become more effective as the season progresses.”

Managing director McLeish said: “As a club, we’re always striving to strengthen both on and off the pitch so it gives us great pleasure to welcome new members of the team who will improve multiple areas of our backroom activity.

“Alongside Billy (Bowie) and Cathy (Jamieson), I look forward to working closely with our growing team as we continue to evolve operations and enhance our performance as an organisation.”
