THE SPFL have confirmed a number of fixture amendments at the request of participating clubs.

Dundee United's clash with Aberdeen at Tannadice on Saturday October 10 will kick off at 6pm instead of the scheduled 3pm.

Aberdeen's return fixture with Dundee United at Pittodrie will also kick off at 6pm on Saturday November 12.

The later time of 6pm was at the request of both clubs as part of a wider plan to trial different approaches in pursuit of attracting greater attendances at matches.

Commenting on the change to the fixture, Aberdeen FC Commercial Director, Rob Wicks, said: “We have stated previously that we would like to trial new kick-off times to help boost attendances and over the past few months we have been working alongside fellow SPFL clubs to make this happen.

“We are particularly excited to have the opportunity to try this kick-off time for a home match as we look to improve atmosphere and increase the opportunity for our wider supporter base, including families, many of whom struggle to make a 3pm kick-off on a Saturday, to come along and enjoy an exciting derby fixture.

“Feedback from fans will be welcomed and the Club will use this data to inform any future changes.”

Meanwhile, Hibernian's match with St Johnstone will now occur on Friday, October 21st instead of the scheduled Saturday 3pm kick-off. The game will get underway at 7:30pm.

After discussions with the SPFL, Police Scotland, and St Johnstone, Hibs requested to move the fixture to trial a new initiative for the club, and the league, by bringing back Friday night football.

Hibs say they "are trying something different and want to create a special atmosphere under the lights at Easter Road."

To create this, the club have reduced all ticket prices (£10 adults, £5 concessions), in the hope that they can sell out Easter Road.
