GLASGOW ROCKS' season ended with a 104-78 defeat at Leicester Riders in the second leg of their BBL Playoff semi-final.
It secured a 209-162 win on aggregate for the league champions who will face London Lions in next Sunday’s finale at The O2.
And after trailing by 21 from the first leg, there was no way back for the Scots in what could be the last club game of player-coach Gareth Murray’s career.
Treble-chasing Leicester blew any slim hopes out of the water when they surged 29-10 ahead as the visitors were hit by early foul trouble.
An immediate 20-5 run slashed Riders lead on the night to just four but the Riders, paced by 22 points from Geno Crandall, were ultimately able to coast onward.
Fraser Malcolm scored 17 for the Rocks who concluded a campaign that saw them reach three semi-finals and recover from a disastrous first half of the league season to climb to seventh.
Murray, now 37, hinted he will call it quits and focus exclusively on coaching after leading Scotland into this summer’s Commonwealth Games with little hope of adding to his 62 Great Britain caps in September’s EuroBasket finals.
