GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST revealed Rangers are hopeful the SPFL will accommodate their request to shift fixtures in a hectic period for the Ibrox club.
Rangers added another two matches onto their end-of-season run-in as they achieved the impressive feat of reaching the final four in the Europa League.
And should Van Bronckhorst's side make the Scottish Cup final - with victory over Celtic tomorrow - then it would only serve to extend their season further.
As it stands, Rangers face a frantic five matches within just 14 days beginning with the return to league action next Sunday against Motherwell.
They are then set to play RB Leipzig home and away with the away trip to Celtic on the weekend between the midweek fixtures.
The home clash against Dundee United would then be the final match in the congested period. League fixtures against Ross County and Hearts follow that run of fixtures.
And should Rangers progress both in the Scottish Cup and Europa League then it'd add another two matches into the calendar.
Given the fixture run-in, Van Brocnkhorst revealed the Ibrox club are having talks over whether matches could be rescheduled.
He said "They are having talks now and obviously, when you have more games in the last stages of the season with a lot of games to be played, you’ve seen in other countries where a lot of games are moved to different dates or kick-off times were changed.
"We want to do the best for Scotland, getting points for everyone in this country so hopefully the SPFL will be helping us to perform as well as possible and make sure we have time enough to rest for the games we have in Scotland."
He added: "Of course, we can have the request and I think that’s what we are doing at the moment but in the end the SPFL has to agree and make sure the fixtures are moved.
"We will do everything we can to do so but the final call is the SPFL.
"In other countries, the FAs are moving the dates so the only thing that can happen is they agree and that’s what we are waiting for. "
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
