Curling is often one of Team GB's stronger events at the Winter Olympics, but what are the rules?

The team competition will see medals handed out in a women’s competition, a men’s competition, and a mixed doubles competition.

How does Curling work?

Ten teams will compete in both the men’s and women’s competition. It will begin with a round robin event over 12 rounds.

After those matches have been played, the top four will progress to the semi-finals.

The teams competing in the women’s competition are Great Britain, Sweden, Switzerland, Japan, Denmark, China, USA, South Korea, Canada and the Russian Olympic Committee.

The men’s competition will be played out between Denmark, Canada, USA, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, China, Great Britain, Italy and the Russian Olympic Committee.

Ten teams will compete in the mixed doubles competition in the round robin stage.

They are Switzerland, Norway, Canada, Great Britain, USA, Italy, Czech Republic, China, Australia and Sweden.

Which Team GB members will be competing in Curling?

Team GB’s women’s team will be made up of Eve Muirhead, Vicky Wright, Jennifer Dodds, Hailey Duff and Mili Smith.

The men’s team consists of Bruce Mouat, Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie, Hammy McMillan and Ross Whyte.

Mouat will team up with Dodds in the mixed doubles competition.
