STEVEN GERRARD has admitted that he underestimated just how much 10-in-a-row meant to both Rangers and Celtic supporters when he first moved to Glasgow.

The Liverpool legend moved to Ibrox in 2018 and at the time Celtic were on course to land their eigth title in a row.

Gerrard would go on to end Celtic's charge for ten when he delivered the title for Rangers last season and he admits he felt the pressure building.

He told Sky Sports: "I think from a personal point of view I underestimated slightly 10-in-a-row.

"My chats with the managing director, the chairman, also the sporting director at the time, they weren't as obsessed with 10-in-a-row.

"Their remit was more we want to get Rangers back, we want to start competing alongside Celtic.

"But the very first time I turned up in Glasgow, even before I had done my press conference, three or four people in service stations had mentioned 10-in-a-row.

"Very quickly I picked up that this 10-in-a-row is the most important thing. I am part of the remit, it was obviously well documented that in year three, if we never done it in year one or two, the pressure was going to be huge."
