ST JOHNSTONE striker Callum Hendry has completed a loan switch to Aberdeen.

The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour at McDiarmid Park, with Chris Kane, Guy Melamed and Stevie May all ahead of him in the pecking order.

He will now switch to Pittodrie, where Derek McInnes has offered him the promise of game time with the Dons until the end of the season.

McInnes was happy to further bolster his attacking options with the arrival of Hendry.

“I’m delighted we’ve managed to secure Callum on loan," he said. "He’s a player we feel can, not only give us a physical presence at the top of the pitch, but he is a player with great potential.

“He arrives, along with Fraser and he gives us good options in the forward areas. We’re looking forward to working with him.”

Hendry goes straight into Aberdeen's squad for the visit of Livingston tomorrow night and becomes the Dons' second deadline day signing with striker Fraser Hornby joining on-loan from Reims earlier today.
