Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall believes Rangers target Jack Simpson has 'made up his mind' on a move to Ibrox as the club negotiate a pre-contract swoop.

Simpson is high on Steven Gerrard's list of targets and the player is in discussions with Gers over an agreement to join in the summer. And Tindall reckons the deal will get done this window as Simpson wants the switch.

Gers are also in discussions with Cherries teammate Nnamdi Ofoborh whom Tindall believes has decided to move on. Asked for an update on Simpson's situation, Tindall said: "Obviously the Rangers thing is still going on. I think Jack’s made his mind up in terms of that’s where he wants to go and play his football.

“I think that one is pretty much going to happen. Nnamdi I think is in a similar position.

“I’ve got such a big squad to choose from. The likes of Jaidon Anthony, Gav Kilkenny and the other young guys – I think with their future firmly here at the football club, sometimes you have to give that priority."

There has been speculation that Gers, if a deal can be struck, will likely move to bring the pair in this month and Tindall admits that is an avenue which could be explored should the opportunity arise. "It’s a possibility," he said. "It’s something that has happened in the past 24-48 hours in a sense of how quickly that’s moved on.

“What happens in the next 24-48 hours, who knows? It’s football, things move very quickly but it’s something that’s obviously not completely in our control.

“But if they do (come in earlier) and there’s an opportunity there, then I’m sure we will look at it.”
