KENNY MILLER reckons the experience of midfielder Steven Davis will be crucial to Rangers' chances of Premiership success this term.
Miller and Davis tasted title glory at Ibrox during Walter Smith's second spell as boss and the Northern Irishman is now aiming for another league flag to add to his glittering CV.
Davis has been one of the most impressive and consistent performers for Steven Gerrard's side so far this season as Rangers have made a stunning start to the campaign.
And Miller knows the 35-year-old's influence will only grow as the matches and months progress and the much sought after Premiership crown edges nearer for Rangers.
"You look at all the things he has achieved, even in the last couple of months by becoming Northern Ireland’s highest capped player," Miller told the Four Lads Had A Dream Podcast. "He has captained Rangers as well.
"A really good guy, humble, down to earth and if this season goes the way that we want it to go then guys like him and Allan McGregor will have played a huge part in that.
"The success hasn’t been there in the last two years but I can see the progression in the team each year. Last year I thought it could have been the year but then after the break it came tumbling down in that six, seven weeks after the shutdown.
"There is a different hunger there, a different feel to the team from last year and guys like Allan and Steven are going to be absolutely crucial to see it through because they have done it, they have lived it.
"They have won leagues, they have won cups, they know what it takes and how hard it will be in March and April to get over the line. The hardest thing to do is to see it out.
"The manager has been over the course and distance as well and he, every day since he came into the building, will have been demanding standards and stressing how important the mental side of playing for a big club is.
"Having those guys in the building is going to be crucial for the team. Steve was a wonderful team-mate to play alongside and I think he is actually under-rated a little bit to be honest with how good he is."
