LEON BALOGUN is confident Rangers can continue their unbeaten European run during the decisive double header with Benfica next month.
Steven Gerrard's side recorded their second Group D win as Alfredo Morelos netted the only goal of the game against Lech Poznan on Thursday night.
And Balogun is relishing the meeting with league leaders Benfica as Rangers prepare for their toughest tests of the section so far.
He said: “Nobody will go to Portugal feeling fear. I was once told fear was never a good thing to feel.
“We’ll go with respect for the opposition, same as we do with every team.
“These teams have all qualified for Europe, and we know all about the strength of Benfica.
“We don’t have to hide anything. The games we’ve played have given us confidence and the management team will prepare us well.
“We’ll go into games to win, not just to participate. We’ll have a plan that will show us ways to do that next week and it’s up to us to breathe life into the plan.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
