Jack Wilshere has opened up on his search for a new club after leaving West Ham in the summer.
The Rangers-linked midfielder departed London Stadium earlier this season after having his contract ripped up by mutual consent. Gers have been rumoured to be interested in trying to tempt the England cap north for a challenge to win the Scottish Premiership, and the 28-year-old has not ruled anything out yet.
One thing Wilshere has said is that he is willing to make a change from the English Premier League to try something different. The playmaker is open to plying his trade in Germany, Italy or the MLS, perhaps. But he won't be rushed into any sort of decision.
"I've been speaking to my agent every couple of days," he told Sky Sports. "There's been a few things that have come up and we're still talking about it, but I'm not going to put a time on it because I want to make sure it's right.
"La Liga, Italy or Germany would be a nice change for me. Not many English players have done it. I always watch La Liga, it was always something I thought about. I like the league, I think it's more technical than the English game. I think it's somewhere I could really show what I can do.
"I don't think I'm too young for the MLS. It's on Sky Sports, I think there's been a big improvement in that league. If the right opportunity came up I'd be open to it."
Wilshere was reportedly on around £100,000 per week at West Ham and the Light Blues would have to do some serious work to get the player through the door. It is not believed there has been any direct contact between the Glasgow giants and Wilshere yet.
