DAVID MARSHALL 7
Read through balls well and commanded area when required.
SCOTT MCTOMINAY 7
Settling into role in back three well after shaky start last month. Commanding presence and good range of passing.
DECLAN GALLAGHER 8
Perhaps the standout player from this trio of games. Defended stoutly, tackled aggressively, and gave no quarter.
ANDREW CONSIDINE 8
Backed up his impressive debut with another solid showing. Intelligent positioning allowed him to coast through evening.
STEPHEN O'DONNELL 7
Determination saw him win ball for opener, and gave a decent account of himself throughout.
RYAN JACK 7
Determined showing, always willing to press the ball doggedly and stop the Czechs playing out from deep.
CALLUM MCGREGOR 7
Used the ball well and showed he isn't afraid to roll up his sleeves for the cause.
JOHN MCGINN 7
Took captain's armband in absence of Andy Robertson and showed some lovely twists and turns in crowded midfield. Crucial block to prevent equaliser too.
RYAN FRASER 8
Calmly slotted Scotland into the lead early on with a lovely finish. Constant threat in behind with his pace.
LYNDON DYKES 7
Played pivotal role in opener and was effective again, but picked up daft booking to earn suspension. Lucky, in fact, not be sent off for petulant stamp.
SUBSTITUTES
OLI MCBURNIE (for DYKES, 65') 4
So unlucky with second effort off bar in as many games.
KENNY MCLEAN (for FRASER, 70') 3
Dug in to get Scots over line.
PAUL HANLON (for TAYLOR, 79') 2
Given debut to see game out.
CALLUM PATERSON (for MCGINN, 79') 2
Tried to give an out ball.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
