HEARTS defender Aaron Hickey and Celtic winger Barry Hepburn are set to join Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany.

Hickey, 18, rose to prominence when playing against Celtic in the 2019 Scottish Cup final and has been linked with a move away from Tynecastle following the Gorgie club's relegation to the Championship.

The left-back - who was on the books as a youth player at Celtic - has been the subject of speculation all summer, with the Scottish champions and Italian outfit Bologna reportedly monitoring his situation, with the youngster's Hearts deal set to expire next May.

Reports in Italy have suggested that the Serie A club have offered a five-year contract to the full-back.

German newspaper Bild are reporting that Hickey will move to Bavaria for a fee of around 1.8 million euros, and will shortly be joined by 16-year-old Celtic winger Barry Hepburn.

The Scottish Sun reported back in April that Hepburn had rejected an offer of a professional contract at Parkhead but still had a year left to run on his youth registration.

That deal would have made it difficult for clubs in Scotland to poach Hepburn but that level of contract is not recognised by UEFA, opening the door to a move overseas.

Should the deal be concluded, Hepburn will be the second Celtic youth player to move to Munich in the space of a year after Bayern signed defender Liam Morrison last summer.
