Rangers' Alfredo Morelos is fit and ready to go against Bayer Leverkusen, says Steven Gerrard.

The striker has been the centre of transfer speculation for a number of months recently, with Lille preparing a bid. It didn't seem to faze El Buffalo as he provided an assist against Aberdeen for Ryan Kent's winner last weekend. And Gerrard insists it won't bother him tomorrow evening in the Europa League.

Speaking ahead of the game in the last-16, the manager said: "Alfredo is focused on the game tomorrow. He is fit to play and wants to play. You will have to wait until tomorrow to see what our team is."

Gerrard is without new signings Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itter who are both unavailable, and Jermain Defoe is injured. So it is likely Morelos will, indeed, play from the start. And the Ibrox boss is determined for his players to have a real go and try to score early to give themselves a chance following the 3-1 defeat from the first-leg.

He added: "The plan is to try and start on the front foot and get that first goal to make it an interesting tie."
