CELTIC striker Leigh Griffiths has reportedly held a heart-to-heart conversation with Neil Lennon regarding his Hoops future.
Scotland international Griff was left behind as the Parkhead side headed to Loughborough for a pre-season camp and he will now miss out on matches against Lyon, Nice and PSG due to fitness issues.
A report this morning in The Scottish Sun says Lennon has told the 29-year-old that his Hoops career is not over and he will be given a chance to prove his critics wrong.
We told last night how Griffiths broke his silence over the matter with a quote post on Instagram.
He shared Rocky Balboa's quote: "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows.
"It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.
"You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
"How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"
Alongside the quote he added: "So many knockdowns, I'll rise up and keep challenging those who doubt."
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
