KEVIN THOMSON reckons Scott Arfield's scoring streak is proof that the midfielder is getting back to top form once again.
Arfield has scored four goals in his last three outings for Steven Gerrard's side as he has made the most of his run in the team.
A double away to Hamilton helped Rangers into the Scottish Cup quarter-finals but his opener against Kilmarnock proved in vain as the Gers were beaten at Rugby Park.
Arfield was the match-winner on Sunday as he netted the only goal of the game to see off Livingston at Ibrox as Rangers got back on track after their midweek defeat.
And former Ibrox hero Thomson is pleased to see Arfield getting back to his best once again after a frustrating spell earlier in the campaign.
Thomson said: "The manager said at the start of the season that he had hit unbelievable heights last season, he took the team by storm and took the league by storm.
"He was one of the fan favourites with the trademark celebration and he was very popular.
"He set those standards in his first season and was then maybe a bit stop-start at times and it has been harder for him to get to those heights. But in recent weeks he has popped up with some great goals.
"The finish against Hamilton was unbelievable and he was one of few players on the pitch that were capable of doing that.
"He could have had two against Kilmarnock and scored against Livingston. So he is in a rich vein of form and I think he is key in linking midfield to Alfredo, he makes really clever runs and supports Alfredo really well.
"There will be times on Thursday night where they are up against it and you need men to stand up to the challenge, need to defend well and have the energy and drive to support the front boys and get a goal."
