THE Springboks have confirmed the venues for their test matches against Scotland this summer, with South Africa’s opening game against Scotland on the 4th of July their first appearance since winning the World Cup last year.
Scotland will take on the world champions at DHL Newlands in Cape Town in what will be the final international at the oldest test venue in the southern hemisphere.
And then two weeks later, the Scots will play their second match against South Africa, which will take place at Jonsson Kings Park in Durban.
Scotland’s last meeting with the Springboks was in November 2018 at Murrayfield where the visitors ran out 26-20 winners, while Scotland’s last victory over South Africa was in 2010 where they emerged 21-17 winners at Murrayfield.
After Scotland have played their brace of matches against the world champions, they will then travel to New Zealand to take on the All Blacks in Dunedin on the 18th of July.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
