ALLAN MCGREGOR Had little to worry him in the first half as County competed well enough but offered no real threat. Second period was just as comfortable for the keeper. 6

MATT POLSTER Deserved his starting spot after coming off the bench at the weekend and was a better fit than Jon Flanagan at right-back. Understandably rusty given his lack of action but was solid overall. 7

CONNOR GOLDSON Untroubled by what little the Staggies could test him with. Will be pleased to record another clean sheet after the slack defensive showing against Hearts. 7

NIKOLA KATIC Barely put a foot wrong on a relatively straightforward evening. Looked a threat in the County area when given the chance. 7

BORNA BARISIC Saw a number of crosses cleared in the first half as he always drove on down the left. Got his reward eventually as Arfield headed another centre down and Defoe opened the scoring. Solid after the interval. 7

STEVEN DAVIS Uncharacteristically slack on a couple of occasions in the first half. Better after the break, though, and played his part to help Rangers into a comfortable position. Made way with 17 minutes left and the job done. 6

GLEN KAMARA Was off the pace at the weekend and needed to be better here. Shook off a head knock in the opening stages but wasn’t at his best in the remainder of the half. More composed on the ball in the second half as Rangers controlled the game. 6

SCOTT ARFIELD Came into the side to take over from the injured Ryan Jack and had a handful of attempts in the opening 45 minutes. Did his best to play further up and support the striker and that link-up paid off as he made it 2-0 just after the break. Deserved the Man of the Match award. 8

SHEYI OJO Has fallen out of favour recently and this was a rare start for the on-loan Liverpool kid. Couple of bright moments in the first half and was involved in the second goal as he burst into space and found Defoe. Continued to grow into the match and will hope there is plenty more to come after an encouraging 90 minutes. 7

RYAN KENT Drifted across the front line looking for space to operate in and a way through the County defence. Couldn’t add to his tally for the term but this was another good showing from the £7million man. 7

JERMAIN DEFOE Starved of decent service for most of the first half but made the most of his chance when it came as he swivelled in the area and beat Nathan Baxter with a low effort. Had a hand in the second with a neat flick to Arfield. Stretchered off on the hour mark. 7

Substitutes:

JOE ARIBO Perhaps unfortunate to miss out on a starting spot. Slotted back into the midfield as he came off the bench. 5

ALFREDO MORELOS Received a warm welcome from the Ibrox crowd as he returned to action following his three-match ban. Few chances but match time was vital. 5

JORDAN JONES Didn’t make the most of his last chance to impress against Stranraer and it was difficult to shine here with the game won. 3
