ALLAN MCGREGOR is confident the standards and spirit within the Rangers ranks will help bring success back to Ibrox sooner rather than later.
The keeper has been an integral part of Steven Gerrard’s side once again this term as the Light Blues have made an impressive start to the campaign at home and abroad.
McGregor has put pen-to-paper on a new deal until the summer of 2021 after triggering a clause in his current contract.
He told RangersTV: “I’m pleased I’m actually fit and staying healthy. I’ve done alright, I’m just disappointed we’ve not won anything yet. But hopefully we can change that.
“The boys are brilliant. It’s good fun and there is a good team spirit within the group. It doesn’t matter what team, to have a good team spirit and good bond between the boys is a big thing.
“The boys all know their roles within the team and I think that’s a big thing when you go on the pitch – everyone knows their job. I think it’s helped us, as you can see on the pitch.
“You need to have standards here and you need to train how you play. I’ve been brought up with those standards so to continue doing that is a big thing here because you should be training the way you play. If you don’t then it might creep into games, so it’s very important.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
