Hibs are monitoring non-league striker Jorome Slew after his FA Cup heroics for Maldon and Tiptree.

The English forward, 21, scored the winner for Maldon in a heroic triumph over League Two side Leyton Orient last weekend.

Slew's strike was voted goal of the round in the tournament and it is understood a representative from Easter Road watched the player in action.

Greenock Morton are also believed to be keeping track of the attacker's progress.

Slew counts Chester, North Ferriby and Wealdstone among his former clubs.

It wouldn't be the first time Hibs have made a move into the market of English football's lower leagues.

Tommy Block signed from Bognor Regis Town in the Isthmian Premier Division while first-team player Christian Doidge joined from League Two's Forest Green Rovers for a fee of around £250,000.
