Scotland have called up Motherwell centre half Declan Gallagher for the Euro 2020 double header against Russia and San Marino after Grant Hanley was forced to pull out of the squad.

Elsewhere, Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has also withdrawn as a result of the injury he suffered in the Europa League match against Young Boys in Bern on Thursday evening.

Gallagher has been outstanding for the Fir Park club, who he joined from Livingston on a free transfer in the summer, and has helped them into third place in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

The uncapped 27-year-old takes the place of Norwich defender Hanley who has suffered a recurrence of a groin injury.

Leeds United centre half Liam Cooper, who started against Russia and Belgium at Hampden last month, pulled out of the Scotland squad last week. He was replaced by Stuart Findlay of Kilmarnock.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke has four centre backs in his squad for the Group I games - Mikey Devlin, Findlay, Gallagher and Charlie Mulgrew.
