TRAINSPOTTING author Irvine Welsh has tweeted his disgruntlement at the current managerial situation at Hibernian.

Welsh, a well-known Hibs supporter, complained that the club were "now not only officially back to being mediocre but institutionalising that status".

The tweet was sent in the wake of Hibs' 2-0 defeat at Celtic Park last night, with Welsh saying he was annoyed that "nobody gave much of a f**k" due to the club being without a manager at the moment.

Neil Lennon and his assistant Garry Parker left by mutual consent at the end of last month following a suspension by the club, with Eddie May and Grant Murray stepping up as caretakers while Hibs search for a successor.

Welsh tweeted: "Annoying thing is not that Hibs lost to Celtic at Parkhead today. It’s that nobody gave much of a fuck or thought ‘it wasn’t too bad given the circumstances.’ Lennon would have given a fuck.

"We are now not only officially back to being mediocre but institutionalizing that status."
