CELTIC goal hero Scott Sinclair feels he is back to his best after heading the only goal of the game to give his side a crucial Europa League win over Rosenborg in Trondheim.
The winger was in and out of the Celtic side earlier this season and was often on the substitutes’ bench, but he is full of confidence again after getting a run of starts in the starting 11 once more.
“I’m making a little bit of a habit out of scoring headers now,” said Sinclair, who netted his fifth goal of the season in the Lerkendal Stadium.
“To be honest, it doesn’t matter how I score, it’s always great to be on the scoresheet.
“It’s great to be back in the team and full of confidence and back in form, and obviously now we’re winning games too.
“Just being back in has given me confidence. To get form you have to play games and I’ve played the last five or six and built up momentum.
“It’s great for me to build on that and hopefully I can keep performing.
“We created chances and we should have scored more goals, but we’ll take the 1-0 and it’s great that we have kept performing, kept creating chances, and thankfully one has gone in.”
Sinclair is relishing the prospect of a final-day showdown with RB Salzburg, with Celtic now knowing that a draw will be enough to join the Austrians in the knockout stages of the competition.
Like manager Brendan Rodgers, Sinclair insisted though that they will be going all out for the win, and with the backing of the crowd on a potentially special night at Celtic Park, he believes they can get it.
“It’s up to us, it all comes down to us winning the game,” he said.
“We only need a draw, but we’ll go out to win it and it has the potential to be a really great night.
“It’s always a special atmosphere at Celtic Park, the fans will be right behind us as they always are, and it is going to be a great game.
“I don’t know if them having qualified already will make a difference to them, it might do and it might not, but the most important thing for us is to concentrate on ourselves.
“We can’t worry about what they are thinking, we just have to go out and play our normal game and hopefully we can get through.
“Every game we play in we want to win no matter what, so we have to go out and make sure we win the match.”
