HIBERNIAN winger Martin Boyle believes competition for places can drive them on this season after he came off the bench to set up the winner against Dunfermline.

Boyle was on the bench for the third time in eight days but made a major contribution as his 78th-minute cutback was converted by Jason Cummings.

That sealed a 2-1 win after Dunfermline’s on-loan Hearts striker Gavin Reilly had earlier cancelled out a Ben Richards-Everton own goal and made it six points from two games for Hibs in the Ladbrokes Championship.

Boyle told Hibs TV: “I am thrilled about setting up a goal but it is all about us working hard.

“You have got to work hard and when you get that jersey you have got to keep it because there is competition.”
