STRIKER Dale Carrick has left Hearts by mutual consent. The striker was sent to Raith Rovers on loan in January but picked up a season-ending injury after two games.

Tynecastle head coach Robbie Neilson has allowed the 21-year-old’s contract to be torn up while he looks to kick-start his career elsewhere.

Carrick made 54 appearances in a maroon jersey, scoring eight goals including a memorable first-half strike against Hibernian in March 2014.

Neilson said: “Dale just wants to play football and to get more game-time, so he’s going to move on and I’m sure he’ll get a club no bother at all. We wish him all the bestand thank him for all his efforts.”
